BALTIMORE – September 19, 2011 – RLTV and Meals On Wheels Association of America have joined forces to present “Good Food, Good Deeds,” a groundbreaking half-hour series combining the excitement of a cook-off with the life-saving mission of one of America’s most extraordinary philanthropic organizations. Co-hosted by TV icon Florence Henderson and acclaimed nutritionist Joy Bauer, the new series premieres Thursday, September 29th at 8 PM on RLTV.
Offering a unique look inside an organization that provides over a million meals a day for aging Americans in all fifty states, in each episode “Good Food, Good Deeds” features a celebrity guest who experiences the fast-paced, inspiring, and fulfilling work of a Meals On Wheels volunteer. Juggling the preparation of hundreds of meals and the challenging logistics of delivering them on deadline, “Good Food, Good Deeds” becomes something far richer than mere meal delivery, for both the recipients and the celebrity volunteers. Each episode features Florence Henderson and co-host Joy Bauer having fun in their kitchen cooking a delicious and nutritious meal. Joy plans each menu, offering guidance on which foods to buy, which to avoid, and serving up meals that are tasty and easy to prepare.
On the season premiere, Ms. Henderson joins Joy Bauer as both co-host and celebrity guest. Future “Good Food, Good Deeds” celebrity guests will include Linda Gray, Mariette Hartley and Bob Eubanks.
“We are proud to be partnering with RLTV to produce this show,” said MOWAA President and CEO Enid Borden. “They are a television network that truly understands why providing our seniors with nutritious meals is not only important but it is also our moral imperative as Americans.”
