November 30, 21012, Baltimore, MD -- RLTV, the only cable network and online destination for adults 50+, debuts season two of Fraud Squad, the powerful TV series that educates viewers on how to spot and avoid the scams that are all too prevalent in today’s society. This investigative series examines various types of fraud, including identity theft, pyramid schemes, mortgage cons, romance scams, automobile swindles and charity rip-offs. Fraud Squad profiles both the swindlers and their unsuspecting victims, all the while enlightening viewers on how to stay a step ahead of the game.
The new season premieres with back-to-back episodes of the half-hour series Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 9 and 9:30 PM.
“Fraud is a multi-billion dollar industry that’s becoming more sophisticated with each passing year, and while it affects consumers of all ages, older adults are especially vulnerable,” said RLTV Senior Vice President of Programming and Production Elliot Jacobson. “Fraud Squad offers strong storytelling and it also provides our viewers with relevant and important information they can use in their daily lives.”
The premiere episode at 9 PM begins by taking viewers inside the issue of counterfeit products. Fraud Squad visits the world’s largest sports memorabilia conference, where leading experts speak about the breadth of this crime. Next, viewers learn about the realities of real estate fraud and see how one couple used their knowledge of the real estate business to steal people’s homes. In these complicated schemes, viewers learn how people with inside information and skills can exploit market regulations in both of these businesses.
At 9:30, Fraud Squad focuses on identity theft. Whether it’s forging documents or stealing people’s personal information, this crime is not limited by borders and affects people of all walks of life. Law enforcement officials involved in both cases tell the stories and offer insight into how to minimize these dangers.
Fraud Squad is part of RLTV’s Funding Your Future content initiative, which focuses on financial issues for adults 50+. Also included is Money Matters with Jean Chatzky, the network’s new, one-hour personal finance series co-produced with NBC News that airs Tuesday nights at 8 PM ET.
